What is biofilm?

Biofilm is a slimy layer of bacteria and calcium that forms in the pipes, pumps, heaters, and corners of your Swimspa. It’s similar to the film that develops in a vase of flowers after a few days, or the plaque that builds up on your teeth – which is why we brush them! Left untreated, biofilm protects bacteria from chlorine or bromine, making it harder for chemicals to work effectively.
