This depends on the temperature of the Hot Tub. If the temperature of the Hot Tub is set above or below core body temperature (approximately 37°C), then you will start to heat up or cool down quicker and can start to experience the symptoms of Hypothermia or Hyperthermia.
Hypothermia is when core temperature drops below normal levels.
Hyperthermia is when the bodies core temperature increases above normal levels.
If the Hot Tub is set to a temperature higher than body core temperature, then it’s recommended by BISHTA to spend no more than 15 minutes in the Hot Tub.
