What is biofilm? 

Biofilms are resilient, living communities of microorganisms including legionella and pseudomonas aeruginosa which produce a protective slimy layer called a biofilm. The biofilm will quickly attach itself to swim spa and hot tub surfaces and is resistant to chlorine even at high levels.
